Shotcrete is perfectly suited to making basements walls, as it can be so easily be pumped down and then shot out of pressurized hose and nozzle. It can be used to make solid walls be being sprayed directly onto steel framework or exiting concrete beams. It can be smoothed to a grade A finish, and be troweled to have crisp edges.
